Sometimes a girl just need something chocolate. Chocolate covered espresso beans. Chocolate syrup. Chocolate Chips. But, I love it even more when that chocolate comes in healthy forms as well. Meet my 3 morning a week friend: The Cherry Chocolate Tart Smoothie. This is one of my favorites because it tastes much like the sugary Cherry Cokes that helped me survive college. It is a greenish brown unappetizing color but the flavor will more than make up for its unfortunate appearance. Cherry Chocolate Tart Smoothie Recipe makes one large or two modest servings Place the items in your blender/Vitamix in this order unless you have an inverted blender like the Nutribullet. Then you would reverse the order. 1 cup spinach 1 cup cherry mixed berry frozen fruit or a mixture of fresh (cherries, strawberries, blueberries) 2 pitted dates 1 TBLS whole flax seed 1 serving of your favorite chocolate protein powder 1 TBLS cocoa powder 1 small apple or 1/2 of a large 1/2 to 1 cup of a Liquid or milk of your choice. I have used Almond, Coconut, coconut water, dairy, and soy. Blend and drink! Super Yummy. Give it a try.
